After several months in our test environment at FreeWebsiteHost.net - the admins have deemed the InterWorx control panel ready for effective use with new Ubiquity Hosting accounts and stable enough to uphold our 99.9% uptime SLA. This change will add a number of features such as 4 new in-depth statistic generators include real-time website statistics. It will also mean, however, that there will be a few less auto-installer apps available to new signups, however our library is expected to grow ten-fold as things progress.

After roughly 1 and 1/2 months of no signups, we are proud to announce that signups are active once again with our free hosting research project at FreeWebsiteHost.net . This new environment is not yet totally stable, however has been deemed capable of hosting sites with at least 75% uptime at this time - and is expect to drasticly improve across the next month.
Currently the largest mode of concern is handling the volume of signups that FreeWebsiteHost.net generates. Recently climbing it’s way into Alexa’s top 20,000 websites in under a month, we are working hard to develop a system that can handle any given level of stress. It is our hope that by pushing these limits that this, in turn, will allow us to better understand the capabilities of various software, scripts, and techniques at work with Ubiquity.

In response to a feud between two of the largest internet backbone providers on the net (info here) which has left much of the internet in a blackout, we have altered our mix of carrier networks replacing our direct connection to Cogent to direct routing through nLayer (also with routing at Equinix). Network performance has continued on flawlessly.

We are kicking things into high-gear this week with the Free Website Host experiment.
Control Panel
First, we are scrapping our cPanel setup entirely moving to a solid base on the InterWorx control panel. By using InterWorx, we will be able to grow miles beyond where we already have; while enjoying a much more stable hosting environment.
Support
We have 2 new moderators on Free Website Host community forums, so give them a good welcome. Nick and Erik will be helping provide end-user support for all that is Free Website Host, while allowing for the rest of the FWH staff to concentrate fully on network and expansion goals.

We’ve given the website at www.freewebsitehost.net a complete makeover. Although it is relatively basic at this point in time, we have intent to build it into the best free hosting site on the web.

We would like to welcome sitetemplatenow.com into the Ubiquity network. This site is intended as an enhancement upon the website templates that have already been sold on the ubiquityhosting.com for some time. It is our hope that this will help us in giving both our site template service as well as our hosting service the personal attention we feel they each deserve.

We would like to announce the new home of Ubiquity and the pre-launch of Ubiquity Server Solutions to be the world-famous Equinix data center located at 350 E. Cermak in Chicago, Illinois. After investigating a number of facilities throughout the country, we came to the conclusion that our clients deserve the same caliber of facilities that all of the largest companies on the net are using today.
In celebration of this event, we begin our pre-launch sale at UbiquityServers.com. If you stop by the site anytime between now and the official launch date of August 1st, we will be voiding all setup fees on all plans / machines. Servers will become active effective August 1st. Hope to see you at Equinix!!

In a dual effort to test out our new location in Chicago, while at the same time moving the entire operation under our direct control, we have migrated our entire free hosting research operation to the future home of Ubiquity ahead of schedule. As a booming and flourishing hosting operation, this has allowed us to effectively test all aspects the setup before moving our premium and dedicated hosting services.
As expected, we’ve been extremely impressed with all aspects of our new network and data center. We are setting a launch date of August 1st for shared and dedicated hosting, with a pre-launch sale expected to happen sometime next week.

Looking Forward
As you’ve probably noticed, UbiquityHosting.com is looking a little different this week. Several site modifications are beginning here as we continue working to grow our dedicated hosting into it’s own entity, as well as it’s own web site.
Although our new location in Chicago, IL is not yet ready for action, it is our hope to begin a pre-launch sale sometime later this month, with a grand opening sometime in August. As the long anticipation of this move is expected to cause difficulties in keeping servers in stock in the first few months, we recommend anyone who is interested in getting into the new facility right away place a pre-order. When operationis at the new data center begin, we will offer the same specifications of servers that we’ve offered in the past with metered packages for 900 gigs and 1200 gigs, as well as the same 100mbit unmetered packages we have offered in the past. Pricing is expected to see a slight fluctuation due to a changing environment; but should stay relatively close to where it’s been. By and large, it will be the same old Ubiquity. Any questions about operations at the new data center may be addressed to sales (at) ubiquityhosting [dot] com.
Looking Back
It should be said that until recently, we admittedly haven’t done the best job of keeping our customers updated on current events. Today, we’ve posted all events from the Ubiquity Newswire covering the past 6 months of activity. These little nuggets of information don’t tell a whole lot, but we hope they will be helpful in providing a bit more of the history behind our company.
